Have a lovely weekend! xoxo
Perfect Fridays end with brown paper packages waiting for you at your front door...a tightly packed, rolled up piece of amazingness. So happy to have this print in my home. Isn't it stunning? Check out all of Jonathan's prints here. What an artist! Andy Warhol would be completely impressed. Can't wait to get it framed and hung next to all my other favorite pieces.
Have a lovely weekend! xoxo

I don't know what y'all have planned for this weekend, but it should definitely include ZERO, a one man show starring my incredibly talented and wonderful friend, Danny O'Connor (who also just happened to be one of our handsome groomsmen)!
This hilarious play has a little bit of everything. ZERO is the second play written by Danny and his brother, Robert. I saw it multiple times last time it was in Dallas, and I was never disappointed. It is side-aching, laugh until you can’t breathe funny, and perfectly upbeat. Even my husband, who hates going to the theatre, loves this show. With six distinct characters, you most definitely don't need another reason to go see it. Get more information here! See you at the show! xoxo Y'all the Dallas Museum of Art is now free! So excited! This is one of my most beloved places in the city, and I'm totally loving this new approach to membership! On January 21, the DMA returned to free general admission and launched a new program called Friends & Partners - completely free of charge to the public! I'm seriously stoked about being able to enjoy art without paying a dime. Click here for more information and be sure to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
xoxo Happy Friday y'all! It's going to be another lovely weekend in Dallas, be sure to check out these local happenings around the city:
Celebrate the holidays Dowdy style at their studio on December 15th, from 4-9pm. Enjoy an collection of nativity scenes and real live reindeer at Holiday at the Dallas Arboretum. A bit of good, old fashioned holiday cheer during the Candlelight event at Dallas Heritage Village. Grab some hot chocolate, snuggle up on the couch with The Holiday Issue of D Magazine. Spend some time outside at Kyle Warren Park's holiday celebration in the park. Have a wonderful weekend in Dallas! The Chinese Lantern Festival was a stunning collection of illuminated art. I would definitely recommend going in the evening when all of the lanterns , flowers, buildings, and animals are lit-up. Lanterns light now through January 6th.
xoxo It's time to kick off another weekend in Dallas! Here are some fabulous things going on in the city:
Head downtown for the 25th annual Children's Medical Center Holiday Parade. Start your holiday shopping right with a trip to The Dallas Flea. Open a world of possibilities at the grand opening of the Perot Museum. Have a super fun weekend! xoxo Alyssa Nassner is one of my favorite illustrators. Her work never ceases to inspire me and brighten my day. Today, I thought I would share some of her amazing work.
Have a lovely day! xoxo It's not unusual for The Nasher to have fantastic exhibitions, but this colorful exhibit took the cake! Last Saturday, artists Marianne Newsom and Sunny Sliger visited Dallas and created a huge installation of shredded plastic in the garden. It was lovely! Who knew plastic could be so incredibly beautiful? It was amazing walking into the space and becoming completely struck with the entire garden infused with color. Depending on the wind speed the sculptures take on different forms, making the installation even more delightful. The absolute best part was being able to participate in the creation - mum and I contributed by hanging up a couple of colorful strands.
Do something pretty this weekend! xoxo I had a phenomenal time at the Studio Party on Saturday. We met my sister and my brother-in-law at the studio, and had a super time gushing over all the art, tees, clocks and everything Dowdy. Seriously, if you haven't checked out Dowdy Studio, you should. I've been smitten with their stuff since the Dallas Flea. I was limited to one purchase for the evening and definitely had an extremely hard time deliberating over an Andy Warhol inspired print created by Napkin Art Studios or a magnificent pirate cat slouchy sweatshirt from Dowdy. In the end I opted for the print because it could be enjoyed by both me and the hubby. Of course, I felt immediate remorse for not purchasing a Dowdy tee and was completely jealous of my sister who did...but I left with promises from Mark that he would ultimately buy me the tee and perhaps a couple of other delectable pieces - because obviously, I had my eye on numerous items. I might be having a love affair with Dowdy Studios - I literally want everything. |
