I'm a comfort food kind of gal. Fried chicken, mac and cheese, and insanely greasy pizza, but it's Asian food that is my real jam. Sushi, dumplings, egg rolls, General Tso's chicken, dim sum, Bò Kho, and I kind of really love Chinese food from the mall. Eeek! So, when I chanced upon this recipe, I had to give it a try. The kitchen was coated in a layer of arrowroot flour and burned attempts at wrappers, but in the end I had the tastiest of homemade dumplings.
Weekends here are filled with extra sleeps and brunching with my favorite guy. We made some apple spiced coffee cake and played a couple rounds of cards with music jamming in the background.
Happiest of Sundays to y'all. xoxo A hop skip and a jump to two weekends ago, we had some Texas company. I love having people in our home. It fills up our empty space and reminds me how great our friends are. Visits from our home state means trips to our favorite Saint Louis places... museums, restaurants, watering holes, and little joints that prove to our friends and family how successful this move has been, and perhaps some reminding on my part.
In Central West End, there is the yummiest of taco joints. And being from Texas, I'm a little particular and slightly fussy when it comes to anything labeled with the words taco, nacho, or Mexican. But this little place hits the spot. Frankly, I could eat there every Saturday with no complaints. Come visit me soon and I'll take you to Gringo. xoxo Another snow day means pancakes and books in bed. Hubby is stuck home too with the treacherous parking garage below our building laced with snow and ice. Enjoying these days and an excuse to stay in my pjs all day.
Happy Tuesday loves. xoxo With all this snow and days indoors, it's hard to believe that only a couple of weeks ago I was soaking up the Texas sun with my beautiful friends in my favorite city. A quick visit to Dallas meant a necessary and mandatory trip to Oddfellows. Splitting and sharing fried chicken + honey waffles, sampling (and taking more than my share of) buffalo mac & cheese, and brunching with the loveliest ladies. We had the best waitress and had a ball. Wish I could put this morning on repeat.
Another snow day means busy grocery stores, long lines, and endless pantry and closet rearranging. Loving this weather.
We're officially back in Missouri with snow, freezing temperatures, and TV watching marathons. The abundance of flurries and wind are keeping us home, so I've been going through my pictures and wishing for extra days in Texas. Two weeks wasn't enough time to be with our families, but I loved every moment. We spread the holiday out between three glorious days of eating, gift giving, and extra hugs and kisses from our sweet little nephews.
Hope everyone had the merriest of Christmases and happiest of new years. |
