Happy weekend friends! xoxo
Found a super cute cafe downtown called Local Harvest. Ordered an almond milk latte, sat down at a table, pulled out my book, and enjoyed some time out of the apartment. Can't wait to go back and try one of their salads!

The last six months have been gloriously busy, but definitely not void of stress. The thought of moving put me in a tizzy, neglecting my resolutions of whole living and instead indulging in every opportunity to eat out. My normally conscious appetite is in need of repair. I feel tired, frustrated with my wardrobe, and downright unhealthy. I'm ready to make a permanent change and my sweet friend Andrea is helping me through the process. An empty refrigerator and a new city are the perfect beginnings to positive changes. Starting today it's organic, grass fed, ghee, almond milk lattes, all natural, and lots of veggies. Now on the hunt for a little organic cafe to replace Number One in Highland Park...

This is what my apartment looks like today, and in a couple of hours everything will be packed up into a moving truck. After 15 years, I have a serious soft spot for this Lone Star State of mine. I have wonderful memories of driving to Texas for the first time with my mum, leaving New Jersey behind, and ready for a new adventure. Now high school and college have passed and I've met and married my love. The friends I've made are irreplaceable and completely exceptional. I am definitely one lucky gal. Living in Dallas has been absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't trade it for the world. The last few weeks have been devoted to family, friends, and visiting the places we love...checking everything off of our list. It's been unbearable saying goodbye to everyone, but I foresee a happy future in Saint Louis.
I'm going to continue to log our adventures so please don't be strangers. Come back. Read the blog. Comment. We had a going away party over the weekend at my mum's house. A little goodbye for me and Mark before we depart for Saint Louis. I wanted locally made treats and drinks to accompany the BBQ chicken... beer from Deep Ellum, tea from Austin, adorable little cookies from Carrollton, wine from all over the state, and lots of homemade and local goodies.
A big thank you to my sweet sister for making the Texas garland and my lovely friend Flo for making all the paper rosettes. Sunday, Daddy and I spent the day in Dallas. We breakfasted with my sister at OddFellows - sipping on bloody mary's, mimosas and indulging in chicken and waffles. Later we wandered around the city, enjoyed the museums, and ate old fashioned ice cream sodas. I've always loved Father's Day, and when the day was done I was sad for it to end, and incredibly sad to say goodbye.

I am completely head over heels for this installation by artist Katharina Grosse... big, bright, and cheery. Her exhibition, Wunderblock, is at The Nasher and I had to pop by before our move to STL. And I am so glad I did. Simply extraordinary.
Oh how I love the Smooth Operator from Emporium Pies. These pies have a pretzel crust with a mouth watering chocolate filling. I am surely going to miss this sweet treat in St. Louis, and so is my pie lovin' hubby. Hooray for pie dates, chocolate fillings, and pretzel crusts!
